| | 1. Go to http://malayalilist.com. The 'city / town' listed on this home page will be always 'Ernakulam / Kochi'
2. First you select the 'city / town' you live in. If you do not see your city not listed, choose the closest city.
3. click 'post to classifieds'
4. select the category from the list in the middle of the page
5. Remaining pages are self explanatory. You keep on going till you get to a form.
6. Fill in all the required information in detail. More detail you can give, more interested the buyers will be. Remember to put your email id in the description. Your phone number would be better to get quick responses. But if you think too many people will call who are not even serious about your offering, don't give out your phone number. Only the serious buyers will go through the pain of writing you an email and those are the ones you need the most.
7. You can add 4 pictures of the item(s) you are trying to sell. DO NOT post pictures that are deceiving; for example posting a picture of a 2006 Suzuki when you are trying to sell your 1995 Suzuki. This is against malayalilist 'terms of use' policy and will be deleted without any notice.
8. When you are happy with the way your ad looks, you confirm the ad. You need to do one more step before your ad shows up in the listing.
9. You will receive an email to the email id you used in the form. Open this email. Click on the link in that email. It will open up a new page where you will see your ad. Click the 'publish' button. Now your posting is 100% and the ad will show up in the listing under the city, category and subcategory you have chosen during posting.
10. You should keep this email in order to edit or delete your posting. Whenever you want to do that, you come to the same page by clicking the link in the email and do whatever you want.

3. From the different categories, select the one that you are interested in looking. You will see the listings with the latest posting listed on the very top.
4. You can narrow down your search by using different search criteria provided. Like keywords, lowest price, highest price, sub-category, smaller towns within the city you selected, etc.

If you can include your phone number, the person who posted the ad has the option to contact you via email or phone. |

| | malayalist started its services with a noble goal of helping the malayali community come together and help each other in their day to day needs without getting cheated by third parties. Everybody work hard to make a living and they deserve full credit on their achievements. They are entitled to get the full value of their possessions when they buy or sell. Some one else (broker) should not be taking advantage of what you have earned through your hard work. Its not fair to pay a lot of money to get this advertised (news-papers ads) especially in this 21st century where technology is improving the quality of life and the way people do things more efficiently. With this goal in mind, malayalilist started its humble beginning with just classified ads. Our goal is to add more and more features that will eventually help malayalees to use malayalilist as the one place they go to for everything in their lives. Features like bulletin boards, discussion groups, events, groups, politics, community, what's happening in your neighbourhood, people in your neighbourhood, charity donations, weather, etc. are all planned. |
